Stephen Marsar, MA, EFO
Battalion Chief FDNY

Stephen Marsar MA, EFO is a 26 year veteran of the FDNY, currently serving as a Battalion Chief. Former Chief and Commissioner of the Bellmore, NY volunteer Fire Department, his certifications include: National Incident Safety Officer; FDNY IMT - Type 1 LOGISTICS Unit Leader and Section Chief Trainee; National and NY State Fire Instructor Level II; Department of Health Regional Faculty Member; and Certified Instructor Coordinator. An Adjunct Professor at the Nassau Community College, Long Island, NY; he also serves as a Chief Instructor for the FDNY, Nassau County Fire Service and EMS academies. 

With a Master's Degree in Homeland Security and Defense from the Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey, CA; and a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science and Emergency Services Administration from the Empire State College; Marsar is also a graduate - with honors - of the Executive Fire Officer Program from the National Fire Academy, Roll of Honor Inductee, and a two time winner of the FEMA's National Outstanding Research Award. 

He writes the Company Officer Development column for the FIreRescue Magazine and is an Advisory Board Member of Fire Engineering.

Chad Hymas

The Wall Street Journal calls Chad Hymas "one of the 10 most inspirational people in the world!"

Chad inspires, motivates, and moves audiences, creating an experience that touches hearts for a lifetime. He is one of the youngest ever to receive the Council of Peers Award For Excellence (CPAE) and to be inducted into the National Speaker Hall of Fame.

In 2001, at the age of 27, Chad's life changed in an instant when a 2,000 pound bale of hay shattered his neck leaving him a quadriplegic. But Chad's dreams were not paralyzed that day - he became an example of what is possible.

Chad is a best selling author, president of his own communications company, Chad Hymas Communications, Inc., and is a recognized world-class wheelchair athlete. In 2003, Chad set a world record by whelling his chair from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas (513 miles).
Chad's speaking career in the areas of leadership, team building, customer service, and mastering change has brought him multiple honors. He is the past president of the National Speakers Association Utah Chapter and a member of the exclusive elite Speakers Roundtable.
